Trip to the ER

This evening Scott and Noah were running errands at the Home Depot. They were holding hands and Noah got upset about something and threw his body backward. Scott held onto his hand to keep him from hitting the floor. Scott could tell right away that something had happened. Noah was nursing his arm and wouldn't move even his fingers. We called our Dr and they said to go to the ER. My wonderful neighbors Olga and Kenny watched Daniel so that I could meet Scott and Noah at the hospital. When I got there Noah started crying all over again when he saw me. We checked in and they checked his arm to see if it was his shoulder or his elbow. They raised his arm which did not hurt. When they rotated his elbow he started screaming. Next we waited for an hour or so to get checked in by the nurse. In the picture above they are taking his vitals. Noah sat very still and was very cooperative.
Then it was back the waiting room. We waited another hour or so before entering the "fast track". I don't even want to know how long the regular ER would have been.

Noah was in pain and whimpered while he nursed his elbow in the waiting room.

Finally we were excepted into the "fast track" care. It wasn't long before the Dr. came in to see Noah. The Dr  checked for broken bones and then did about three little twists. Noah screamed. He settled down quickly though, but would still not move his arm. The Dr said that we would wait a few minutes, and if he was still nursing it, he would have to do it again.

We asked Noah to touch his head. After slightly raising his arm, he started to cry, and was nursing it again. Just as the Dr came back in he started to move a little. We told him he had to do the sign for all done before we could go and he did it right away. In this picture, Noah was better, but still nervous to really move his arm.

Noah felt much better within just a few minutes. After not too long he was running around in circles in the lobby.

It was a great outcome. Hopefully we wont be making any more trips the ER for a long time

Poor baby! So was his elbow just dislocated? How scary for him. I am glad he's feeling better!
