Fun Facts #1 Daniel

Daniel Fun Facts
#1 Daniel can't wait to walk! He can stand on his own for a few seconds at a time and loves to cruise around the furniture. When I help him practice standing he gets so excited. He seems so proud to pull himself almost on his own with the added stability of holding onto my fingers. He smiles and laughs, delighted with himself when he is able to stand on his own.

#2 Daniel does not like to be fed. When he sees that spoon coming towards him, he will not open his mouth. Even if you try to put non baby food in his mouth, he will put his hand up and grab it to do it himself. He likes to be able to hold his food and check the texture and then decide for himself if he wants to eat it. He will look at it and inspect it and descide whether or not he is going to eat it or not. Daniel likes it when I give him big pieces of food that he can feed himself, like a banana, or toast.

#3 Daniel is finally starting to cut some teeth. He has cut at least one on the bottom, but I think that he has either or will soon, but another on the bottom, and two on top. He doesn't have anything that will help him with chewing yet, but he is not far off.

#4 Daniel is a very laid back baby. He is very good at occupying himself. He crawls around the floor and plays with his toys very well on his own. He likes the play kitchen that I have in the kitchen. There is a bucket of play pans and plastic food that he likes to go through and suck on.

#5 Daniel loves stairs. He can climb up very fast. I keep the baby gate up most of the time. It is in front of the front entrance, so sometimes I take it down to bring stuff inside. Daniel takes every opportunity he can to go for the stairs and can make it near the top so fast

#6 Daniel almost always has the tip of his tongue sticking out

#7 Daniel LOVES the outdoors. If I start to go outside, but run in with him to grab one more thing, he will start screaming. If he is ever sad, going outside is sure to cheer him up right away. I set him down in the grass with a toy and he will be content for a long time playing and crawling around in the grass.

#8 Daniel loves to swing. We have a park just behind our house and Daniel is very familiar with the swings. He leans forward and lays on the front edge of the swing as he holds on. He is always very. We have played on the swing for periods of a half hour or more, and Daniel has never showed a sign of wanting to get out.

#9 Daniel is a big boy. Last we checked, he weighed 22 lbs, which is only 2 lbs less than Noah. He wears clothes in size 18 months but will be moving to 24 months soon. He wears size 5 shoes.

#10 Daniel is a great napper. He has always been great at taking naps. He still takes 3 naps a day, but I am trying to cut that down to 2 naps a day.
His current schedule(without jet leg which he currently has from our Seattle trip) is

Wake up at 8am
Breakfast
bottle and nap at 9:30 to 10:30
playtime
lunch at 12:00
nap and bottle 12:30 to 2:30
playtime
dinner at 5:30
nap from 6 to 6:45
7:15 start bedtime routine
8:00 bedtime
Daniel always wakes up at midnight and 6 for a bottle. I go through phases where I let him have it, and some where I don't. I am just about to cut  him off to try to get him sleeping better through the night again.

#11 Daniel loves the bath! He likes just a little water so he can crawl around. He likes it when you lay him down in the water and he will laugh and kick his arms and feet like crazy.

#12 Daniel got sealed to our family in the Seattle Temple last week! It was a wonderful experience to be in the temple all together as a family with our loved ones with us.

#13 Daniel is a tough guy. If he falls down or bumps his head, he just keeps going and does not let it faze him.
